We met on a cold winter's night, December 15, 1981, at a Christmas party in the apartment of our close friend, Ann MacDougall. I had been at dinner with Judge Pierre Leval and a co-clerk in Little Italy. I remember well seeing my future wife: a beautiful woman of 25 wearing a sky blue sweater that accentuated her blond hair and blue eyes. She was at the party with her then boyfriend, but that did not discourage me. I knew upon looking at her that I would marry her some day.
Neither of us proposed to the other. After 7 years of being together, including two living together in Chicago, we decided to get married. A great thing about this is that I still have the opportunity to propose to her some day.
Tell the story of when you proposed.
We were married on August 26, 1989, in Princeton, New Jersey, on a beautiful outdoor wedding followed by dinner and dancing with our family and close friends. Thirty years later, now, we are renewing our vows in Las Vegas. Why? Why not!
